Surendra Srivastava.

Surendra Srivastava is an MBA in Finance and Post Graduate in Science and Commerce. He has also holds PG diploma in Development and Investment Banking. He is also a “Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Banking (CAIIB). He is an alumnae of IIM-Ahmedabad and has been trained at IIM-Lucknow, at “Micro Finance Training Programme” conducted by Consultative Group to Assist Poor (CGAP) at Boulder, USA during 2002 and at the Financial Inclusion Advocacy Centre, London. He also holds a Certificate in Digital Money from Digital Frontiers Institute, South Africa.

He comes with more than 37 years of cross functional experience in the field of Micro Finance (capacity building, debt and equity financing of MFIs / Small Finance Banks and Policy advocacy), financial inclusion, gender development, entrepreneurship development, cluster development, rural industrialisation, development banking and design and implementation of large development projects funded by international agencies such as DFID, IFAD, SDC, UNIDO and KFW etc.

His professional track spans across institutions like Social Work & Research Centre, Tilonia, Rajsathan- one of the leading NGOs in the country set up by Bunkar and Aruna Roy; Industrial Development Bank of India- apex DFI; SIDBI, the apex state owned DFI for MSMEs in India; Micro Units Development & Refinancing Agency (MUDRA) – a key institutions for the micro units in the country. He has served MUDRA as its Chief Financial Officer as also acting MD and CEO.

He has played a key role in bidding, design and implementation of Poorest States Inclusive Growth Programme, a 6 year programme (2012-2018) for financial inclusion, gender development and policy advocacy, with an outlay of 30 mn GBP, supported by DFID-UK and implemented by SIDBI.
