A Cultural depiction of “He for She”

Aambrotsave presents Lead artists Bhadra Sinha and Gayathri Sharma of Kalakriti Arts “He for She” – the beauty of the combined power of Shiva and Shakti, in this special production using a mix of poetry and traditional abhinaya in Bharatanatyam style.

Shakti is the ultimate power, the energy that makes the world go round, the source of power for Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh. She is the mother – jagat-janani, nature.

Shiva joins Shakti and becomes Ardhanariswara when he himself gives his left half to Shakti, showing us her rightful place as his equal. Shiva’s Nataraja pose also depicts the philosophy of the Ardhanariswara where he lifts his left leg (which belongs to Parvati), directing us to seek blessings at his wife’s feet.
